A Damn Fine Story
This short story “Trilobites” is one of the best stories I’ve read in a long time. And it was first printed in 1977. If you like good writing along the lines of Raymond Carver or Tobias Wolff, then you need to check this out. The writer, Breece D’J Pancake, would very likely have been one of the great short story writers of the 20th century had he not blown his head off with a shotgun in his mid-20s.
